[origin: EP2055864A2] Plate (1) comprises a holding groove (8a) on at least one side along the plate edge (6a) and a reinforcing edge (7) arranged in the groove. The reinforcing edge is connected with its outer surface facing away from the groove flush with the plate edge. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of a plate. Preferred Features: The plate has a surface cover forming a joining surface facing a base body (2) and lying against the base body and the reinforcing edge. The surface cover is 0.1-2 mm thick.
