Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2055871A2] The lock has a latch (3) arranged in a housing (1), where the housing includes an inserting slot (4) for inserting a coin. Two scanning devices scan diameter of the coin inserted into the slot, in a scanning position, and cooperate with locking devices in such a manner that the latch is shiftable only for a coin with a suitable diameter. The scanning devices have a retaining flange, which holds the coin inserted into the slot against pulling and is accessible outside in the scanning position of the closed latch. A blocking element blocks the scanning devices in a position shifting the latch.
