[origin: WO2008025584A1] The invention relates to a form cylinder (06) of a printing machine, comprising a plurality of sections (A;B;C;D;E;F) in series in the axial direction on the envelope surface thereof. At least one printing block (01) can be arranged in each of said sections. The form cylinder (06) comprises at least one channel (07) extending in the axial direction thereof, said channel having an opening (08) on the envelope surface of the form cylinder. At least one holding device respectively associated with each section (A,-B;C;D;E;F) is arranged in the, or each, channel. Each holding device can be pneumatically actuated in sections, and at least one recess open on the envelope surface of the form cylinder (06) is formed outside the sections. A device for distributing the compressed air supplied to the form cylinder to the respective sections (A; B; C; D; E; F) is provided in the at least one recess. The device distributing the compressed air supplied to the form cylinder to each section is embodied as an arrangement of a plurality of valves (36). At least one control device (18) is provided outside the form cylinder (06) and used to actuate said valves in a non-contact manner. The control device (18) associated with each valve (36) is oriented towards the envelope surface of the form cylinder (06) in a radial line of influence.
