[origin: EP2058786A1] The device has a carrier frame (3) attached to a tunnel cover (2). Another carrier frame (5) accommodates electro-optical signal generators (13) e.g. LEDS, arranged to produce a preset signal image. Light is transmitted parallel and/or bent to a roadway of a tunnel in a direction of arriving vehicles. A closed front plate (14) is provided at the frame (5) and has elliptical-shaped light transmission regions (16) corresponding to the generators. The plate is made of plastic or safety glass, and is provided with a light resistance layer and/or resist coating up to the transmission regions.
