[origin: WO2008025569A1] The invention relates to a cable tie having a closure tape (1), which has a toothing system (5), and a closure head (2) which is connected to the closure tape (1), forms a leadthrough channel (3) and comprises a locking pawl (4). There is provision according to the invention for the closure tape (1) to have a recess (11) in the transition region (8) between the closure tape (1) and the closure head (2), and for the recess (11) to be arranged in the extension of the leadthrough channel (3). It therefore takes place in almost the same plane, in which the other end of the tape is connected to the closure head. In this way, the tilting moment which acts on the closure head is reduced. The closure tape bears against the bunched materials in an improved manner.
