Abstract (en)

[origin: DE102006042074B3] Preparation of labels that can be detached from hydrophobic substrates in an aqueous solution, comprises completely or partially applying a hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive on the label, where the adhesive is water-soluble in an alkaline solution and the label is water-permeable labels with a water absorption (Cobb value) of greater than 0.3 g/m 2> per 20 seconds, and perforated labels, which exhibit perforations or recesses of less than 10% on the bonding surface. Independent claims are included for: (1) the label coated with a water-soluble hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive; and (2) a water-soluble hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive for binding labels comprising at least 5-50 wt.% of a base polymer, 15-85 wt.% of a resin exhibiting an acid number of 90-220 mg potassium hydroxide (KOH)/g, plasticizers and/or additives.
