[origin: EP2061059A1] The device has a sudden closing device including a sudden closing shaft (7) with a lever (13) cooperating with a cam (14) of an operating handle (6) and another lever (15) cooperating with a stop (16). Movable contacts (4) cooperate with fixed contacts (5). Contact pressure springs are placed between the contacts (4) and a contact-holding shaft (3). The springs are compressed at beginning of a closing operation of the handle during retaining of the contacts (4), where energy stored by the springs is released after the operation of the handle to achieve closing of contacts.
