Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1900517A1] The device comprises an electromechanical engraving unit with a stylus (4), which is movably mounted on a base of the engraving unit for working the surface (5a). A drive (23) moves the stylus in relation to the base, in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the cylinder (5). A mechanism sets and maintains a basic distance between the base of the engraving unit and the surface of the cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing embossed structures in surface of cylinder.
