An electrostatic filter/trap (1) provided in a flow channel (3) of a cleaning device, where the channel has a wall (4) and interior (5) through which waste gas carrying particles streams into a flow device, and an electrode extending in the flow direction, for forming an electric field between the electrode and the channel wall. A particle deflection device prevents particles settling on the electrode, and in which the particle deflector comprises at least one pilot electrode unit (9) arranged in the waste gas flow direction, in front of the electrode to form an electric field. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) (A) A heating system for generating energy by combustion. (2) (B) Method for reducing deposits of particles of exhaust or waste gas on an electrode.
