[origin: EP2062655A2] The covering film (2) comprises a recess, whose circumference is larger than the outer circumference of a flange (8) of a wheel rim (5). The covering film made of plastic material is formed partly elastic with a size of the recess and an elasticity of the covering film such that the recess is brought on a range of the recess under elastic expansion, where the range of the recess is larger than outer circumference of the flange of the wheel rim. An independent claim is included for a method for painting a wheel rim of a motor vehicle.
