[origin: EP2063043A2] The awning has a rotatably mounted fabric shaft by which a fabric is unwoundable. A front end of the fabric is fixed to an extended profile. The profile is displaceable at guide rails. The shaft is driven by an electric motor. The profile is extendable by actuating units i.e. driven traction mechanisms. The shaft and the units are decoupled from one other when retracting and extending the profile. The profile is fixed in an end position by a blocking unit. The fabric is stretchable in the end position against the fixed profile by a rotation of the shaft in a retracting direction by the motor.
