[origin: WO2008034492A1] Proposed is a method for producing a rotor for a Francis turbine, which rotor comprises a rotor base, a rotor ring and rotor blades. The method is characterized by the following essential features: - two disc bodies are formed from metal; - the two bodies are subjected to a cutting machining process which is such that the rotor base with blade stubs integrally formed thereon is generated from the one body, and that the rotor ring with blade stubs integrally formed thereon is formed from the other body, such that in each case one blade stub of the rotor base and one blade stub of the rotor ring combine to form a complete blade; - the two machined parts are assigned to one another in such a way that the free ends of the blade stubs which are integrally formed on the rotor base are situated opposite the free ends of the blade stubs which are integrally formed on the rotor ring; - the free ends which face towards one another are welded to one another.
