[origin: EP2065533A2] The stabilizing element (1), for slabs, has a rectangular plate shape with locking units (1x,2x) on both sides. The locking units are projections to engage underneath ground layers and the covering slabs. Successive stabilizing elements (1a,1b,1c) are laid overlapping each other. The stabilizing plates can be of metal sheets, castings or of plastics.
