[origin: WO2008034566A1] To provide a quickly and easily accessible shut-off valve (30) for liquid-carrying pipes, in particular drinking-water pipes, comprising a housing (10) which encloses a free end of the pipe and which has at least two shut-off faces (11, 12) arranged in the housing (10), wherein a first shut-off face (11) is provided at a distance from the end of the pipe and a second shut-off face (12) is provided downstream of and at a distance from the first shut-off face (11), it is proposed that the first barrier surface (11) is arranged in the housing (10) such that it can be flushed from below and the second barrier surface (12) is arranged in the housing (10) such that it can be flushed from above.
