Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008040817A1] The invention relates to a circuit for a voltage reference that is independent from the temperature. The circuit comprises a first bandgap-type circuit (C1) supplying a first-order temperature-stable voltage from a base-emitter voltage of a bipolar transistor (T3) having a negative variation slope that is a function of the temperature, and from a voltage or a current (I2) having a positive variation slope that is a function of the temperature and supplied by a generator that generates a current proportional to the absolute temperature. The base currents of the PMOS transistors of the latter are compensated so that the output current is proportional to a collector current and not to an emitter current. An adder (ADD) establishes a linear combination with respective weighing coefficients of three voltages that respectively consist in the output voltage EG(T) of the first circuit (C1), the output voltage of a second circuit (C2) supplying a voltage E2(T) that is proportional to the difference between the absolute temperature T and a reference temperature Tr, and the output voltage E3(T) of a third circuit (C3) supplying a voltage that is proportional to the square of that difference.
