Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2067536A1] The system has a process unit (90) for controlling common storage of a postal package (88) of a flow of mail item in a storage module (40a) i.e. last-in-first out module, from a group (46) of package outlets. The process unit controls discharging of commonly stored postal packages from another group (48) of package outlets. The groups of package outlets comprise the storage module, which is serially arranged between package inlets (52, 64) and the package outlets. Package flow (96, 98) from each package inlets to each package outlets takes place by the storage module. An independent claim is also included for a method for sorting flat postal packages.
