[origin: EP2067621A1] The method involves accomplishing a paint form change at a plate cylinder (22) of a painting unit (14) parallel to an assembling function at a printing unit (13) such that the painting unit is completely decoupled from a main drive of a sheet fed printing machine (10) to the paint change form. The cylinder of the painting unit is driven by a separate drive. The printing unit is synchronously coupled to the main drive of the machine after implementing the paint form change. Cylinders of the printing unit are driven by the main drive.
