The range hood has a front blocking-and-protecting element (4) connected to a smoke collecting cover assembly in an overhanging way. The front blocking-and-protecting element is made of glass, and a cover element is directly connected to a shell. A front blocking-and-protecting element supporter is connected to the cover element. Through holes are formed in the front blocking-and-protecting element. Tongues are extended into the through holes such that a front part of a bottom cavity component is overlapped on the front blocking-and-protecting element.

Dieses Schutzrecht erstreckt sich auf einen Dunstabzug, einschließlich eines Gehäuseteils (5) sowie eines Moduls Dunstsammelhaube, das ein vorderes Schutzelement (4) umfasst und mit dem Gehäuseteil (5) verbunden ist, wobei das vordere Schutzelement (4) auslegerartig auf dem Modul Dunstsammelhaube verbunden ist. Da das Modul Dunstsammelhaube des Dunstabzugs hängend mit einem vorderen Schutzelement versehen ist, wird gleichzeitig mit einer Vereinfachung der Konstruktion dieser Stelle der Dunstsammelhaube und einer Einsparung von Material die Funktion realisiert, dass das vordere Schutzelement den Öldunst und das Wasser, die beim Kochen entstehen, sowie das von der Leuchte kommende Licht davon abhält, bis zur Stelle des Kochenden zu diffundieren. Außerdem erzielen das Modul Dunstsammelhaube sowie der gesamte Dunstabzug aufgrund dieser Konstruktion auch eine unverwechselbare optische Wirkung.
