[origin: EP1908661A1] The device (2) has vehicle control units (4, 22) for signals which are transmitted and/or are to be transmitted to train protection systems. A diplexer of one of the vehicle units diplexes the signals received by an antenna (6) of the vehicle unit to a passive beacon receiver and to a loop receiver (12). A switch is provided for operating a rail vehicle by the vehicle units. Another loop receiver (26) is integrated into the vehicle unit. A switching module (R) is attached to the diplexer, and the signals are switched to the latter receiver if the vehicle is operated by the latter unit.
