[origin: WO2008040343A1] The invention relates to a vehicle restraint system for delimiting roadways, said system consisting of guiding profiles (1) which are placed next to one another in a detachable manner. Each guiding profile (1) comprises a housing-type base body (2) that can be placed upright on the ground and a guiding bar (14) arranged above the base body (2). The guiding bar (14) and the base body (2) can be coupled together by means of tightening rods (19), wherein each tightening rod (29) is connected to the guiding bar (14) with one upper end (20) and can be tightened at one bottom end (22) in an abutment (23) arranged in the base body (2). The guiding bar (14) and the base body (2) are advantageously arranged at a vertical distance from one another by spacer elements (30), the tightening rod (19) extending through said spacer elements (30).
