[origin: EP2070864A2] The truck has a central control unit with a brakable drive wheel, and a load fork (16) adjustable in its height. A distance sensor i.e. commercial analog distance sensor, is arranged in a frame unit of the industrial truck such that a distance to a carrier plate is determined. The frame unit and the carrier plate are relatively moved to each other based on a load that is accommodated in the load fork. The control unit is designed such that a wheel vertical force acting at the wheel is determined by evaluating the determined distance.
