The device has a shoe roll (2) comprising a stationary carrier (5) and a flexible roll cover (6), which rotates around the carrier supported in an extended nip (3) at a pressure shoe (8), where roll cover is made of rubber or plastic. The pressure shoe has an active shoe width in machine transverse direction and arranged at the carrier. The active shoe width is determinable by a plastic support (14) that is arranged on the pressure shoe, where the support adjusts the pressure curve in the extended nip. The support consists of pressure resistant material.

Vorrichtung zum Bilden eines Langspalts (3) zwischen einer rotierenden Gegenwalze (1) und einer Schuhwalze (2) zum Behandeln einer Materialbahn (4), wobei die Schuhwalze (2) einen feststehenden Träger (5) und einen um den Träger (5) drehbaren, flexiblen Walzenmantel (6) aufweist, der im Langspalt (3) auf einem am Träger (5) angeordneten, eine wirksame Schuhbreite (9) in Maschinenquerrichtung aufweisenden Druckschuh abgestützt ist, wobei die wirksame Schuhbreite (9) bestimmt ist durch eine auf dem Druckschuh (8) angeordnete Auflage (14), die die Druckverlaufskurve im Langspalt (3) einstellt.
