Abstract (en)
The device has a cutting device including a cutter head (18) that is rotated around a vertical axis. The head is formed as profiled as a contour cutter or a front cutter. The head is held at a motor-driveable carriage or a retaining device adjustable in vertical and horizontal directions outside an area lying over a closed surface of three of the carriage. The retaining device is connected with the carriage. The head exhibits diameter that is maximally larger than a width of a groove (12) in a grooved rail. An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a rail.
