The present invention relates to a device for closing a hole in the ground, comprising a plate part for closing the hole in an edge thereof, and pressing means for at least partially compensating the mass of the plate part. The invention further relates to methods for respectively removing a plate part from and placing a plate part in a hole in the ground.
