Abstract (en)

Provision of a robot is aimed, which is capable of appropriately adjusting the position or the like of a body thereof on a current spot from a viewpoint of executing a designated task accompanied by interaction with a target object. Robot 1 according to the invention is configured to enable adjustment of the position or the like of a body 10 by controlling movement of a hip joint mechanism (a first leg joint mechanism) 141, a knee joint mechanism (a second leg joint mechanism) 143 and so on, on the spot, while the robot 1 is allowing each foot 15 to keep its floor-arriving state. Accordingly, in a case where the position or the like of the body 10 is inappropriate from a viewpoint of executing a designated task notwithstanding that the robot 1 maintains its standstill in a second designated area for the purpose of executing a designated task, the robot 1 can execute the designated task after the position or the like of the body 10 has been corrected on the spot in the second designated area.
