Abstract (en)
The shield (1) has a drum sealing groove (2) for accommodating a front drum seal (6). A groove base (5) of the drum sealing groove has continuous tapered toothing (3) in sections. The toothing is formed against a rotational direction of a washing drum (7), and perpendicularly extending ribs (4) are formed in a side wall of the groove and are formed in wedge-shape. The drum seal is made of foam or combination of foam and felt, and the shield is made of plastic.
