[origin: EP2072694A2] The sink (1) has a sink bowl (2) and a tray surface (3). A heating unit is provided below the tray surface for heating tray surface, so that the tray surface is usable as warm retaining area (11). A heating element of the heating unit is fixed at the lower surface of the tray surface. The tray surface is made from glass, metal, particularly high-grade steel or a composite material, particularly acrylic quartz.
