Abstract (en)

Two or more laser light generators (2', 2") produce beams (3', 3") coupled by a common optical system into the combustion chamber (11). The beams are incident on the coupling optic (4). They are offset, and parallel or mutually-inclined, as they meet or leave the coupling optic. The arrangement is such that the beam entry surfaces on the single, common coupling optic are separate from each other. Similarly, the beam exit surfaces on the common optic are also separate from each other. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding method of ignition.

Laserzündeinrichtung (10) umfassend zumindest zwei Laserlichterzeugungsvorrichtungen (2',2") und eine gemeinsame Einkoppeloptik (4) zum Einkoppeln von Laserlicht (3',3") von den zumindest zwei Laserlichterzeugungsvorrichtungen (2',2") in einen Brennraum (11) einer Brennkraftmaschine, wobei die zumindest zwei Laserlichterzeugungsvorrichtungen (2',2") derart angeordnet sind, dass von den Laserlichterzeugungsvorrichtungen (2',2") im Betriebszustand abgegebenes Laserlicht (3',3") parallel versetzt oder unter einem Winkel zueinander auf die Einkoppeloptik (4) auftritt und / oder aus der Einkoppeloptik (4) austritt, Verfahren zur Zündung eines Treibstoff/Luftgemischs in einem Brennraum (11) einer Brennkraftmaschine. Der Laserzündeinrichtung kann ein Spiegel (12) als Laserlichtablenkelement angeordnet werden.
