[origin: EP2072820A1] The method involves determining a starting time of a movement of a piston (26) as an analysis variable by formation of a temporal conduction of an electric current flowing in an excitation time interval and comparison of the temporal conduction with an assigned threshold, and determining an end time of the movement of the piston as another analysis variable. The two analysis variables are compared with respective assigned references. A presence of an error condition is detected when the analysis variables deviates from the references.
