[origin: EP1576900A1] The hairbrush shaft mantle surface (8) which comes into contact with the hair being styled is designed so that the hairs in contact with this surface do not follow the rotation of the hairbrush (3). The density and/or rigidity of the hairbrush bristles (B) is chosen so that hair in contact with the bristles will follow the rotation of the hairbrush, so that hair picked up by the brush is not rotated through 360 deg. Preferably the hair is rotated through only 180 deg. by bristles which are anchored in holes in the hairbrush and extend through openings in the mantle surface which are located at a distance from the anchor holes. A fan is incorporated into the handle (2) and blows a stream of hot air over the hairbrush, which is rotated using an electric motor.
