Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2075443A2] The method involves detecting a stop and go situation by using sensors (6). An electronic accelerator pedal (1) is pressed by an operator for requesting power of an internal combustion engine depending on a position of the accelerator pedal. Maximum internal combustion engine speed (4) is limited to a predetermined value, if the stop and go situation exists, where the maximum engine speed is limited to 50 to 60 percentage of rated speed. The limitation of the maximum internal combustion engine speed is cancelled, if no stop and go situation exists. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for emptying garbage containers using an internal combustion engine operated-bin lorry (2) a controller for operating an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, comprising an electronic accelerator pedal.
