The device (11) has a sensor (12) i.e. acoustic sensor (21), provided in a detection area comprising a nesting of plug-and socket connectors (16, 17). A comparator (18) compares data detected by the sensor with stored comparison samples, where the comparison samples describe the connecting process of the connectors in an end position for the generation of a good/bad decision by the comparator. The sensor is attached at a joining device (13) of a machine manufacturing device. The sensor is attached at a glove, a wrist band, a head band or at an external part of the body of a person.

Ein Prüfvorrichtung (11) für eine Steckverbindung (19) ist so auszuführen, dass die Steckverbindung (19) in fertigungstechnisch günstiger Weise hergestellt und geprüft werden kann. Dazu weist die Prüfvorrichtung (11) einen Sensor (12, 21) auf, dessen Erfassungsbereich das Ineinanderstecken von Steckverbindern (16, 17) der Steckverbindung (19) beinhaltet. Die von dem Sensor (12, 21) erfassten Daten werden einem Komparator (18) zugeleitet, der diese mit hinterlegten Vergleichsmustern, die den Steckvorgang in dessen Endlage vergleicht und der ein gut/schlecht-Signal generiert. Die Prüfvorrichtung (11) wird vorzugsweise bei der Produktion von Kraftfahrzeugen eingesetzt.
