Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009030312A1] The invention relates to an axle drive for rail vehicles, comprising the following components or characteristics: a running wheel set shaft (1); - one running wheel set (2, 3) each, which is rotationally fixed on the respective end of the running wheel set shaft (1); - a drive motor (4), which is arranged axially parallel to the running wheel set shaft (1); - a transmission (5), which is arranged between the drive motor (4) and one (2) of the two wheels (2, 3); - the transmission (5) comprises a gear wheel (5, 1), which is non-rotatably connected to the running wheel set shaft (1), a pinion (5, 2), which is non-rotatably connected to the motor shaft and meshes with the gear wheel, and a transmission housing (5, 3); - the transmission housing (5, 3) can be opened in the region of the pinion (5, 2) on the side of the running wheel (2) located there. The invention is characterized by the following characteristics: - the width of the interspace between the pinion (5, 2) and the side of the running wheel facing the same is equal the length of the pinion; - the pinion (5, 2) can be removed from the motor shaft and can be inserted into the interspace.
