Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008043407A1] The present invention relates to a panel (6, 21) for a covering (1), wherein, following installation, adjacent panels (6,7,20,21) of the covering (1) abut each other on the longitudinal sides (4,5,22,23) and/or transverse sides thereof, and the longitudinal sides (4,5,22,23) and/or the transverse sides of adjacent panels (6,7,20,21) have such a longitudinal- and/or transverse side geometry that, during installation, at least one hollow cavity (8,9,10a,10b,25) is formed between two partially abutting longitudinal sides (4,5,22,23) and/or transverse sides of adjacent panels (6,7,20,21). At least one active component with air pollutant-reducing and/or odorous substance-reducing action is located on at least one longitudinal side (4,23) and/or transverse side of the panel (6,21) in an area which, following installation, together with a non-abutting area of a longitudinal side (5,22) and/or transverse side of an adjacent panel (7,20), forms the hollow cavity (8,25) such that, following installation, the active component is arranged inside the resulting hollow cavity (8,25).
