[origin: WO2008043931A1] The invention relates to a method for controlling powered driving means used for opening and closing a rear transverse opening (7) of an automotive vehicle (1), pivoting (M) at an upper transverse edge relative to a rear upper transverse edge of the frame structure between a lowered closed position and a lifted opened position, wherein said method comprises the following steps: sending a start command to the powered driving means (17); acquiring images (24) using a video camera (9) positioned on the rear transverse opening (7); analysing the images (24) acquired by the video camera (9) in order to detect the presence of an obstacle; and sending an interruption command (27) to the powered driving means (17) in case an obstacle (28) is detected.
