Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008043613A1] Disclosed are a method and a traffic routing system for controlling traffic flows in which hazardous or special material (7.n) is transported through safety-critical traffic zones (1) such as tunnels, bridges, or locks. In said method and traffic routing system, safety-relevant data is read with the help of a signal transmitter (4) disposed on the transported hazardous or special material (7.n) and is transmitted to a central computer unit (3) when said vehicle passes reading devices (5) located in the safety-critical traffic zone (1). The central computer unit (3) determines a safety risk in the safety-critical traffic zone (1) on the basis of the safety-relevant data of all transported hazardous or special material (7.n) located in the safety-critical traffic zone (1) and sets traffic routing signals which reduce the risk of an accident involving transported hazardous or special material (7.n) in the safety-critical traffic zone (1) in order to avoid an undue safety risk.
