Abstract (en)
An electric submersible pump assembly and method for artificially lifting fluid from a well bore to the surface. The assembly comprises a positive displacement pump (3), a motor (2) for driving the pump and an electro-mechanical cable (1), the electro-mechanical cable being capable of suspending the pump and motor in a well bore and of supplying electrical power to the motor. The motor is preferably a permanent magnet motor, and the pump is preferably a twin-screw pump.
