The device has a closed transporting channel (8) with an inlet (8a) and an outlet (8b) for transporting a filter tow (6) from the inlet to the outlet. A spreading device (22) is provided in the area of the inlet for spreading the filter tow, which is guided through the spreading device before or during the entering of the filter tow into the inlet. An air supply unit (12), an air inlet nozzle (16) and an air outlet nozzle (20) are provided for conveying the filter tow, where the air inlet nozzle is provided at the inlet of the transporting channel. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a filter rod of a smoking article i.e. cigarette comprising a transporting channel from a filter tow source to a spreading device.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Transport eines Filtertows (6) von einer Filtertowquelle (2) zu einer Maschine zur Herstellung von Filterstäben für Rauchartikel, insbesondere Zigaretten, aus dem Filtertow (6), mit einem im Wesentlichen geschlossenen Transportkanal (8), der einen Einlass (8a) und einen Auslass (8b) aufweist und durch den das Filtertow (8) vom Einlass (8a) zum Auslass (8b) führbar ist. Das Besondere der Erfindung besteht darin, dass im Bereich des Einlasses (8a) des Transportkanals (8) eine Ausbreitereinrichtung (22) zum Ausbreiten des Filtertows (6) vorgesehen ist, durch die das Filtertow (6) vor seinem Eintritt oder während seines Eintrittes in den Transportkanal (8) führbar ist.
