[origin: EP2078591A2] The tool (1) e.g. crimping pliers (2), has crimping jaws (5) building a nest (45) for a connecting element. Hand levers (3, 4) manually apply crimping forces to move the jaws. The hand levers are located in a plane (50) that is aligned with a longitudinal axis (14) of the nest and divided into two half-planes (51, 53) by the longitudinal axis. A transfer/transmission unit transfers translational activation along the longitudinal axis in the force flow between the hand levers and the crimping jaws into rotational activation around the longitudinal axis.
