Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2078770A2] The method involves providing a spinning device (3) for producing a thread (30), and providing a winding device (33) for forming a cross-wound bobbin (22). A length of a faulty thread, which overriding on the cross-wound bobbin, is determined during occurrence of thread fault. A spinning process at a functional area (2) is interrupted. The cross-wound bobbin is rotated unwinding of the faulty thread manually against a winding direction (R). The unwinding length of the faulty thread is monitored. A signal is indicated, when the faulty thread is unwounded again by the cross-wound bobbin. An independent claim is also included for a functional area comprising a sensor for detecting a length of thread stripping from a spinning device.
