The key has a shank (1) for insertion into a locking channel of a cylinder lock, where a longitudinal profile (7) is arranged at a wide side (5) of the shank in longitudinal direction. Ein Schlüssel für einen Schließzylinder hat an einer Breitseite (5) ein um einen Winkel (±, ²) zur Oberfläche einer Breitseite (5) geneigtes Längsprofil (7). Kanten des Längsprofils (7) zur Oberfläche hin sind parallel zu einem Schlüsselrücken (6) angeordnet. Der Schlüssel lässt sich ohne genaue Kenntnis des Winkels (±, ²) nur sehr schwierig kopieren.
