Abstract (en)

The invention provides a planographic printing plate precursor including: a support; and two or more positive recording layers each including a resin and an infrared absorber, each of the layers having a solubility with respect to an aqueous alkali solution that is increased by exposure to infrared laser light, wherein: of the two or more positive recording layers, a positive recording layer that is nearest to the support includes two resins; at least one of the two resins is a polymer including at least one structural unit selected from the group consisting of a structural unit represented by the following Formula (I) and a structural unit represented by the following Formula (II); one of the two resins is included in a dispersion phase that is dispersed in a matrix phase; the matrix phase serves as a dispersion medium and includes the other of the two resins; and the rate of dissolution with respect to an alkaline aqueous solution of the resin included in the dispersion phase is slower than that of the resin included in the matrix phase. In Formulae (I) and (II), R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Z represents -O- or NR 2 ; R 2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or a alkynyl group; Ar 1 and Ar 2 each independently represent an aromatic group; at least one of Ar 1 and Ar 2 is a hetero aromatic group; and a and b each independently denote 0 or 1.
