Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2083119A1] The curtain coating device comprises an edge guide for guiding a curtain delivered by a coating head of the coating device. The edge guide guides with its interior area (2j) of the edge of the falling curtain. A lubricating liquid flows downward to the interior surface of the edge guide. A supply opening (2c) is intended in the upper area of the interior surface and a suction opening (2e) is intended in the lower area of the interior surface. The interior surface is equipped in a lateral area between the supply opening and the suction opening with a water absorbing coating (2f). The curtain coating device comprises an edge guide for guiding a curtain delivered by a coating head of the coating device. A water repellent coating (2h) is applied to both sides of the strip-type area in which the coating is formed. The edge guide is arranged in pairs so that it clamps and/or guides to both edges of the curtain between itself.
