Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2008061995A2] The present invention provides a prion protein (PrP)-free immortalized somatic human cell line wherein both alleles of the PrP gene have been completely deleted by homologous recombination. The invention further provides a method for the production of said cell line and its use for producing human recombinant proteins which are suitable as biopharmaceuticals.
