Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008052873A1] Apparatuses for delivering fuel are already known, having a delivery assembly which supplies fuel at increased pressure to an internal combustion engine via a pressure line, wherein a non-return valve and a filter are provided in the pressure line and a pressure relief line having a pressure relief valve branches off from the pressure line downstream of the filter. It is disadvantageous that the opening pressure of the pressure relief valve has to lie above the maximum system pressure which is built up by the delivery assembly, since the delivery assembly could otherwise not build up the electronically regulated system pressure during operation. As a result, the pressure line including the filter is loaded with the high opening pressure over a relatively long time period in the case of being switched off, with the result that the pressure line, in particular the filter, has to be of accordingly pressure-resistant design. The apparatus according to the invention is improved in such a way that the regulation of the delivery assembly is independent of the setting of the pressure relief valve. There is provision according to the invention for the opening pressure of the pressure relief valve (23) to lie below the maximum system pressure which is built up by the delivery assembly (1) and for a restrictor (24) to be provided in the pressure relief line (22).
