The tool (10) has a braking device (12) i.e. band brake, with a brake lever (14) and a sensor (30) to detect states of the device, where the device blocks a rotating drive element (2) i.e. centrifugal clutch drum, in one of the states in which the device is applied, and the device releases the drive element in the other state in which the device is released, so that the drive element rotates freely. Output signal of the sensor is supplied to a control unit (31) as state signal of the states. The control unit controls devices of the tool based on the state signal.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein handgeführtes Arbeitsgerät wie eine Motorkettensäge mit einem Antriebsmotor (1), der über ein rotierendes Antriebselement (2) ein Werkzeug (3) antreibt. Dem rotierenden Antriebselement (2) ist eine Bremseinrichtung (12) zugeordnet, die in einem ersten, angelegten Zustand das Antriebselement (2) abbremst und in einem zweiten, gelösten Zustand das Antriebselement (2) zur Rotation freigibt. Um ein Betrieb des Arbeitsgerätes bei eingelegter Bremseinrichtung zu vermeiden, ist vorgesehen, an der Bremseinrichtung (12) einen Sensor (30) anzuordnen, der den Zustand der Bremseinrichtung (12) erfasst. Das Ausgangssignal des Sensors (30) ist als Zustandssignal einer Steuerung (31) zugeführt, die in Abhängigkeit des Zustandssignals Aggregate des Arbeitsgerätes (10) steuert.
