Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008046839A1] The invention relates to microcapsules comprising a capsule core, a capsule wall and polyelectrolytes that are arranged on the outer surface of the capsule wall, said polyelectrolytes having an average molecular weight of 500 g/mol to 10 million g/mol. Said capsule wall is made of between 10 and 100% by wt. of one or more C1-C24-alkyl esters of acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid (monomers I), between 0 and 80 % by wt. of a bifunctional or polyfunctional monomer (monomers II) which is not soluble or poorly soluble in water and between 0 to 90% by wt of other monomers (monomers III), each percentage being in relation to the total weight of the monomers. Said microcapsules have an average particle size of between 1.5 - 2.5 µm and 90 % of the particles have a particle size of =4 µm. The invention also relates to a method for producing said microcapsules, to its use in textiles, binding agents and heat transfer liquids and microcapsules as an intermediate product.
