[origin: EP2090190A1] The device has a furniture body (11), and a furniture part (2) displaceable relative to the furniture body, where the furniture part is designed as a drawer, door, or flap. A control device (7) controls a movement of an electrical drive (5), such that the electrical drive activates the furniture part in a predetermined direction (x) for generating a definite acoustic signal, where the electrical drive is formed as an electric motor. An electromechanical drive device (3) is provided with a gear device (4), which forms a resonation body for generating the acoustic signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating an acoustic signal in a furniture.
