The safety device has a sleeve and two form-stable half shells (12,14), which are connected with each other by a hinge (24) to form the sleeve. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schutzvorrichtung (10) mit einer Schutzhülle für das lösbare Aufbringen über einen Schlägerkopf eines Golfschlägers, welcher den gesamten Schlägerkopf umgreift. Nach der Erfindung bilden zwei formstabile Halbschalen (12, 14) die Schutzhülle, welche über ein Scharnier (24) miteinander verbunden sind, wobei die Halbschalen (12, 14) zwei Hebel (20, 22) aufweisen, die so angeordnet sind, dass mit Zusammendrücken der Hebel (20, 22) die beiden Halbschalen (12, 14) durch Aufdrehen über die Drehachse (26) des Scharniers (24) aus einer Schließstellung in eine Öffnungsstellung aufgedreht werden.
