[origin: EP2090441A1] The method involves conveying printed products (5) to tools e.g. cutting knifes (17-19) of a processing device (2), where the printed products are provided with a detectable identification code (13). Data of the information code are detected using a reading device and are used for processing the printed products. The data are transmitted to a control device (23) that controls one of the tools for processing the individual printed product based on the data, so that each printed product is processed based on the data. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for manufacturing a printed product using a processing device.
